It begins with a raw experience, which is charted into data points or articulated into other languages. It is translated, simplified, or edited to support your views or mine.

And to bring order to an increasingly complex world, knowledge comes to us in beautiful symbols that have come to invoke the authority and seduction of infallibility.

But we are vulnerable when we forget that fact is not fact, but a point along a process of knowing. In pen and paper and string, I trace the corruption of information as we struggle to distill functional truths from this world.
